Looks like you are stumped with the answers above.. Get the cheapest one with the best deal and that has the most coverage in the places you will normally be. You will not really notice a difference for normal internet connectivity.

well with my karma and experience... cingular.. which used to be at&t.

i can even make a call in an elevator.. tunnel... 4 level basement (where i'm on the bottom level) moldy and deep wine cellars where there's much moisture and bottles blocking all but hell's wraith!

in a rain storm.. hurricane...

as long as the network is up.. i've had great luck with cingular... so far.

been with them... (at&t and the merger) since... oh oh... um... counters fingers and toes and hairs... 8 years now? 9was with bellatlantic years before that 1984, no problems there either but i left after verizon took over because for some reason the service got real nasty and i couldn't make connections.. go into a tunnel it's all over... so on and so fourth.

i've not had much of any complaints.. other than the prices are going up a wee bit to match cingulars already existing plans before the merger.

service isn't too bad either.

i remember during hurricane isabelle (i'm in maryland) our network was only down... 8 hours... i was back up online before we got our power back and that was a beotch of a hurricane.. it wiped out everything.

others who had verizon... t-mobile... sprint... their netoworks were up a day and a half later..

so i lucked out or it's a real good service.

oh one time.. i went into a tide pool that was no longer a tide pool if you know what i mean.. i went WOOP into very deep water... the phone was working AND my connection was still up..

He he!

if i could talk under the water i could have..

T-Mobile I've had a T-Mobile phone since I was 10. I currently have a Sidekick which has internet connection and in the beginning it seems slow but after keeping the cell phone for about a month they will send you an upgrade in which I can guarantee you will be satisfied. If you visit a website around twice it will go to the site in less than a second. You will blink your eye and it will be there. Take my advice and get a Sidekick III.

Currently Cell-phone based Internet is much, much, slower than cable based Internet. Wireless broadband is shoddy in many areas, and these fluctuations in speed provide for a very unstable browsing experience. Wireless technology is just at the fringe of taking off. Give it five years and things may be very different, but for the time being I would continue to use your cable connection. Don't give up on wireless though - keep your eyes open for the time when things really change.

Sprint and Verizon (If you are in a V-Cast area) are the fastest with Ev-DO technology. Cingular, and T-Mobile in the U.S. are using GPRS which would be the next fastest, but not faster than EV-DO. Sprint(believe it or not) has the broadest Ev-Do coverage(153 million pops in 220 cities as opposed to Verizon with 148 million in 181 cities)

In mili seconds, who cares? I have had better connections with Cingular than any other cell phone, but I'm not sure if the phone is quicker, or if my wife is just talking faster. Either way, I liked the one that hung up on us occassionally.

That all depends on what time you use the network. If you have about the same amount of people making calls on all the networks then all the providers should be VERY similar in speed.
