Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com posted a story saying the WWE.com interview done with recently released, Kurt Angle, was done so he can "save face" and make it sound like a mutual decision.
In actuality the release of Kurt Angle was a decision made by WWE themselves as they are very concerned about Kurt's health overall. Right now he is going through a divorce, his neck is really hurt and he will one day need neck fusion surgery that will effectively end his career, he has an abdominal injury and the groin tear. Because of these injuries he has been (as alluded to in the WWE.com article) using pain medication with regularity. WWE is worried that he wont rest and stop himself so they had to do so for him.
The release is said to be WWE's only option to help him and is compared to the Jeff Hardy release from 2003 in that WWE feels he has a problem right now and Kurt doesn't and in an effort to help him they had to release him.
WWE is said to be very open to bringing him back down the line. We will continue to follow this story and have more when we know it.:-)

He's one of the best ever and I'll miss him since he's my favourite wrestler. Hope he recovers soon from his many injuries and personal problems so we can see him back better than ever.
Angle is a 5 time WWE World Champion who has won the WCW, Intercontinental, European, Hardcore Championships and King of the Ring.
It's true. It's true. It's damn true that he's the greatest WWE wrestler ever.

First off, concerning Kurt Angle, like the bible says be sure your sins will find you out. After what Kurt and others on his behalf did to Kurt's son's mother Antoinette (Nicesty Girl), this is why God is bringing him and the others with him down.

I definitely agree with Tony on the question. He was one of my favorite wrestlers, too. At least he won the World Heavyweight Title before leaving. He deserved to win that title.

I don't like him that much but I will admit that he is a good wrestler. I am shock that he is gone and I just think that maybe he should end his career it in WWE instead of ECW.

Good, he really turned out to be a prick. He should have retired from real wrestling right after winning the gold.
