What if the nursery dream "row row row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily merrily merrily merrily, life is but a dream" really holds the key to our existance?

Jo - maybe the mind cannot function without pain, and maybe because pain and suffering foster empathy and connection.

I could have sworn the key to our existence was the "HOKEY POKEY"

You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out;
You put your right foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your left foot in,
You put your left foot out;
You put your left foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out;
You put your right hand in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your left hand in,
You put your left hand out;
You put your left hand in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your right side in,
You put your right side out;
You put your right side in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your left side in,
You put your left side out;
You put your left side in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your nose in,
You put your nose out;
You put your nose in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your backside in,
You put your backside out;
You put your backside in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your head in,
You put your head out;
You put your head in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your whole self in,
You put your whole self out;
You put your whole self in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about

Actually this NR is showing that life is just that.
see it says " row row row your boat"
that is the movement of life.
" Gentle down the stream" tells you to move slowly through the river of life. "merrily, merrily merrily " shows you should live this journey with as much happiness as you can.
" Life is but a dream"
a dream is a vision or imiage that you can see but can not touch.. like our ast and our future,
Thus case in point " Life is but a dream. and a dream is how you precisive it.

Once upon a time
When the world was just a pancake
Fears would arise
That if you went too far, you'd fall

But with the
Passing of time
It all became more of a ball
We're as sure of that
As we all once were when the world was flat

So I wonder this
As life billows smoke inside my head
This little game
When I think it should

Why would you play by the rules?
Who did, you did, you
Who did, you did, you

"Now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face..." St. Paul.

The Bard likened life to a stage where we come on to give our brief lines and exit. He puts out the famous line -- "To sleep per chance to dream?.... Is this reality followed by a dream or is this a dream to be followed by who knows what?

There is Plato who gives the cave example where we see only shadows cast by fire light.
There is Jung who sees us living out factors of collective dream types.

The Eastern religions cast out "I think therefore I am" for "I think but I am not my thoughts." If we are not our thoughts, who are we?

The mind relates to the physical world, the spirit to the spirit world. We are, with any true knowledge, connected in two dimensions.

Row Your Boat is a similar thought in a sweet perspective and is a key to viewing existence.

In faith, one exists in this short and vaporous existence as seeing those things which are invisible. We sight the true dream in our spirits and count cares and trials of this world corrupt and temporary. For we look for a city whose builder and maker is God.

I believe the little nursery song does hold a key.
Even through this be physical and that to come spiritual; both consist of shadows and types emanating and evolving out of the mind of God.

Life is but a dream, especially when you think back to all that happened in the past. You may have photos, or souvenirs to keep around, but for your mind, we live moment by moment. When it is gone, that part of life is gone for good. There would be nothing but a fuzzy memory of it. So dream away.

I think life is a dream in the sense that it is clouded by our perspective. Existence on its own is unbiased, but each individual person's life is biased, as are our dreams. Both the individual person's life and dreams are biased in the way that they are influenced by the person's thoughts and feelings. So, I'd say, "life is like a dream", not that it actually IS one.

Then I will throw out my paddle,and let the winds of time carry me.
Sounds like the real conclusion in any given day anyway.We row,row,row,until somebody elses dream gets in our way,so we may as well "go with the flow"...

It does hold the key to our existence - life is but a dream - and maybe our dreams are what we see as being our lives. We're really dumb creatures us humans keeping ourselves in cages that are our minds - bound by science, and what we see through our eyes as "REAL"...
