I've been threaten by this girl I know who wrote me numerous emails threatening to beat me up kill me, and then got some from her boyfriend also, and got one from her mom saying she was going to rip my beeping heart out. All this started because I didn't have her in my top 8 friends on my space. I'm 24 with two and and a husband and it's like how immature can you get. I haven't thought of fighting since i'm like 16. This girl is 19 and her mom's in her 40s. Should I ignore these and take them as empty threats or should I go to the police and press charges? Please help.

It would probably be wise to report these threats to police at present just in case they are not empty threats. They may not do anything at present but will have a record in case this becomes habit, then they or you can charge them with harassment. It's sad that these computers have become the newest fad for this type of behaviour and bullying against younger children. Best of luck to you.

If you feel threatened or you think they will follow through at all, you should go to the police. You have kids that have nothing to do with this and will end up being the victims if these idiots decide to try to follow through with the threats. It seems like they are being awfully persistent, taking turns threatening you. Sounds serious enough to me. Take care of you and your family. You never know when someone will really go over the edge- sounds like they are right there. Be safe.

NEVER EVER take something like that lightly. Even if someone is fooling around or just trying to give you a good scare, that is a threat regardless. You need to call the police and report that. People on the internet can be very scary.

If I were you I would remove myself from that smut hole known as My Space

You've got control because you have threats on your life IN WRITING. Press charges, get a restraining order, and after the charges, bring a civil suit--a little cash wouldn't hurt.

If you'd like more advice, email me.

that is ridiculous!! she needs to get a life.

ok first i'd like to ask is there a third party, like a mediater that you can trust that can ask them if they are serious.

i don't see how somebody can be this mad just because you don't consider her as your best friend.

people like that have some serious issues. yes report the police. i hope they believe you. just be sure to bring evidence to show the seriousness of this. i really don't know what they can do, hopefully, something.
maybe you should also invest in a alarm system for you house, and possibly carry mase with you.
i don't know what else to say. its just so crazy.

that would probably be a good idea. At least you could a restraining order possibly. Are you sure that is the only reason though? That just sounds odd.

If she know where you live then yes contact the police. If its just over the via emails then change your email and ignore her. She won't be able to contact you then.

copy the threats and give them to the police if you are not sure if she will go through with them its better to be safe than sorry.
