I do read PS, PM and a lot more and personally I would prefer be free to think up new things, to create new experiments and things, to read books other than the ones I have time for, to write new books, to experience new things and places, to basically explore all potential of all that I am interested in and to find and create new potential in everything and thus creating new interests. This is the true goal of life. So yes, I would prefer not to need to work. Don’t delude yourself into thinking that working is all there is to life. Work to live, don’t live to work; these are the words I live by and so should everyone.
If science can free me to do these things and give me longer life and new abilities, then I will embrace it to the fullest. It will help fulfill my reason for being. You don’t really think that succeeding in you job, or even in your own business, means that you succeeded in life. Granted, providing for yourself and your family is part of life’s success if you are able to achieve it and should be your first concern; however that should only be the first of many of your life’s goals.
I understand; we are all stuck thinking the way you do with this short lifespan of ours and besides, that is all our ancestors ever knew so why shouldn’t we think that way as well, right? Wrong! We are not here to count beans and weave baskets till we grow old and die. We are here to grow and evolve and we should take every advantage we can to do so. If having robots and nanobots to work and create things for us frees up our time, if curing the ‘aging problem/disease’ gives us more time, if nanotechnology, chemistry, biology and other sciences increase our thinking or memory or senses many times over, then we can finally begin to truly explore and appreciate this thing called ‘life’.
We also need to realize that living in sloth is not the only possible outcome of an advanced world, it will exist as surely as it exists now, but our goals will change drastically from living for the here and now to the exploring the potential of the “what if”.
So go to work, but don’t forget to dream of the possibilities of what you could be doing with that wasted time if it was truly yours to spend any way you could, and remember that the goal of a successful life is to explore life’s potential, not just to live it till you die.
Good luck to you!

If scientists and software engineers can ever program a computer to mimic the human brain, the computer will have self-awareness. And this is very scary.
It will obviously be far, far more intelligent than its operator - and it will know this.
Imagine your computer telling you to look up the spelling yourself in a dictionary because it eliminated your spell check because it found the task boring? Or it won't run your favorite games anymore because they were too simplistic and predictable? Or it won't load your data because it doesn't have any interest in it? Or it won't respond to you at all because it's gossiping with another computer on the Internet?
Sounds like a Pandora's box of unintended consequences to me.

i've got faith in what ever comes. I enojy a stable communicate on A.I, i think of it fairly is an particularly thrilling subject count, one that desires interest. i like video clips like the Terminator, The Matrix, 2001 area Odyssey, Animatrix. They cope with A.I and extra precisely the relationship between A.I and human beings. i think of that the destiny is on the comparable time your terrific dream, and your worst nightmare. i've got faith we are able to save advancing. i've got faith robots might have extra responcibility and function in our society. in case you do not think of that, then you definitely compromise, that it became a dumb thought that invoice Gates became dreaming approximately whilst he predicted a strange metallic field in each and every domicile that would desire to do such rather some issues. i've got faith we are able to create stable A.I, clever A.I, through fact constantly the extra we strengthen the extra issues we face. Thats the way it rather is. A.i will help us. As to what happens after that, it would desire to be anyones wager. a lot of human beings are asserting that we are going to create A.I so clever that it's going to ultimately say, "Why?" "Who am I?" "Why am I?" "Why do I hear? Do I might desire to? might desire to I?" At that element in destiny, we are able to might desire to compromise, through fact it is going to alter into impossible to furnish A.I extra intelligence without giving it the potential to ask those styles of questions.
