Since the patriot act gives the obstruction of liberty by the government, does this mean that our founding fathers would have wanted us to rebel against this current government?

I do beleive that many of the Founding Fathers would think this government is getting out of control. A history lesson too long to be contained in this little box would explain what the Declaration of Independence is referring to with each of those statements, but let's just say that too many taxes imposed upon people who felt they were not represented in the government who ruled over them gave cause to the American Revolution. If we keep having elections where people come out if them feeling like they had been stolen, and we keep having wars that are too expensive for us to finance, we could very well see another revolution take place.

Interesting question. Given the founding fathers deliberately created a republic (representative government) instead of a democracy (mob rule), do you really think they would have supported the idea that any time some group of people who intensely disagreed with something the government did, they should take up armed rebellion? Why, then, would they have made it illegal to do exactly that?
I imagine you would like to have a revolution though. Maybe with you ending up being the dictator?

Yes, but not this particular goverment. It hasn't taken away our rights or forced us to do things agaisnt our will, like slavery. So I think that if anyone started a rebellion now it would be a big fat waste of time. This goverment is not oppressive, the one in the 1700's was.
But the time may come, and soon, that our rights and freedoms as citizens may be taken from us and a new tryanic goverment arises. Then, I will kill every last political leader I can. And with my skills in combat, armed and unarmed, it could be quite a few.

The problems started way before the patriot act. I'd say you'd have to go back to the early income tax days, even before FDR and his big-government programs, to nip this one in the bud.
The problem now, as I see it, is this; the government has the largest military in the world, a vast nuclear arsenal, and a budget of $2.8 trillion. I have a steak knife and a few thousand bucks in the bank. If I lash out and revolt with all my might, so what?

yes they would not only did they want to begin there own country after 200 years of british rule and taxation but also a nation run by the people.
THOSE people however where suppose to be the popular business leaders in the community that helped enrich the community .
Who back in the day would of seen the industrial revolution and the ability of a very few to sieze control in such a short time .
Today our representation is limited to an elite few who have managed to control government for 100 years almost .
RICH men have used the media to attain power or select those they wish to lead for them . The end result is the same .
lawyers by in large have taken complete control of our nation .
THESE men and companies they work for control the vast wealth and future of america .
Law firms who handle multi million dollar trusts groom certian up and comming politicians in there firms to take positions of power in the community and select state and federal reps .THIS is not all that complicated to see when you look at the employment records of the canidates and then see who they really work for .
the law firm of say schmitt collins and woodburn control a small fortune in family trusts and investments .a young lawer comes on board with a model life .Haandsome married to an attractive woman with three kids and 10 years at the firm .
HE is now ready to head into politics . WELL funded and introduced to all the right people he wins hands down and begins to represent his supporters who are all inter connected and related to the law firm and other politicians who all work to increase wealth of the funds and reduce taxes all while promoting tougher sentences for criminals who they can collect fee's from .
this is one big circle of taking money from the poor to pay the way of the rich and some control to prevent people from wasting time drunk druging or otherwise being less then 100% efficiant at working to earn income and pay taxes.
IT is time the working man revolt and restore america to a proper balance of power which should of remained in the workers hands and the good people in the community and not a bunch of lawyers and attorneys .THEY produce paper work handle estates for a fee and survive off the misery of others .profitting from death and malpractice and liability .THEy readily settle with insurers and bargin and broker deals with others of there kind .
WE have no honest hard working men today in politics except for a few.
THESE men who are desent take a beating in the press .
FOR all the crap bush takes he is at heart a good man and not as stupid as one would think .
Back in the day flying an aircraft meant he had to be able to calculate his fuel reservs verses air speed and head winds and be able to plot a course by maps or stars and flight time and direction to a pin point location . this was not a dumb mans job .
Advanced calculas and triginometry is not a fools education or for those with a low I.Q..I may not agree with him at all but i can not say he is dumb.
ALSO we have a man like murtha in pennsylvania who is a fine military leader draged around by the media as a soft man and coward .HOW does a former military man with tours in vietnam ,medals and a distingushed career end up being called names .
WE do need a revolution and good man despite political leanings if not surrounded by idiots liers and cheats would do the right thing . BUSH was a littled twisted but could of been headed in the right direction if surrounded by good men . Anyhow it of to bed tonight and good luck with getting the revolution going . I will support a demonstration on washington at any time it is publicly announced all those who wish to protest the war show up and march as close as we can get today to the white house .HOW about from the lincoln memorial past the vietnam memorial to the washington monument .
IT has been a few years since i have been in d.c.
every american should go there at least once .
Gives new meaning to what america has done and more important what our future can be .
IT may not be fair but it is the best anyone has to offer .

I think it means they would have wanted us to rebel against any government we have had since 1932. There are arguments for overthrowing any of them since 1860, many people think Lincoln was the beginning of what has become out of control socialism in the U.S.

Not yet. But if the administration continues to ignore the Constitution, then we certainly need to elect new legislators who will uphold our rights, and not consider it "just a piece of paper" as do Bush and Gonzalez.

It should have been done when they first introduced their tyranntical government that restricted and refused the rights of common men, Native American, a enslaved direct descendants from Africa.
