i loved it, it really moved me. i had seen it as a play as well and i thought it translated to screen well, as long as you can handle musicals

Rent is a awesome movie. Its the hottest Broadway production of all times. Rent is a story of friendship, love, and compassion. It basically is about a year in the life of a group of friends: Mark, Roger, Mimi, Maureen, Angel, Collins, & Joanne. They are all basically bohemians. None of them have much money and are struggling to get by. Four of the characters are dying from AIDS. This movie brings you down a emotional and inspirational path. Rent IS love!

I loved Rent! Sure it was kind of cheesy in parts, but it's got frickin' idina menzel. the vocal talent of the cast alone is what makes the movie great!

I think it was an excellent movie. The story was so uplifting yet so sad. And it can teach you a lot about tolerance and how other people live and what their lives are like.

It would be better as a play. It seemed contrived as a movie. I compare it to movies like Hair which is better.
