Blue-ray is a format that was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc.

Blu Ray is a totally new format of Discs, think like CD's DVD,s now the future is Blu Ray discs and HD-DVD, blu ray and HD-DVD can play Hi Def movies and store alot more data than regular CD's and DVD's.

Blu-Ray is a higher capacity cousin to DVDs. They supposedly offer higher definition than a standard disc.

instead of reading the disc with a lense.
it will read it with a blue ray thing.
It wont scratch the disc.
