Yes some can,
There are some geldings that are proud cut
this is common amongst horses on the Navajo and Hopi reservation. they do this so the horse will became more calm but still have the build of a stud.
when a horse is proud cut they take the testacales but cut the cords very close and so leave all of the cord.
this in turn does to a horse almost the same thin as a visectomy does to a human.
A lot of breeder Me included will use a proud cut gelding to tease a mare into seson or to test a mare to see if she is in full heat. ( it is safer for the mare as well as me.)
the fluid that they relise is sterail and will not impregnate a mare.

Geldings still have sexual hormons that can stimulate a gelding to want to perform mounting to a mare. It is instinct of species.
My 29 year old gelding has done this often. He thinks he is an old fart being a hot stud still. ha.
What happens pretty much is they mount on the mare and then be like "ok...what do now...". No fluid is released and no true erection is made.
By time they get up there. They get right back down.
I gelded my foal at 10 months and he already was trying to mount and getting hormonal. It is not uncommon to have early developers get their wheaties like that.

I have seen some geldings that were gelded late in life. they "drop" at a mare in heat and show all the signs of a stud. some even will attempt to mount a mare or even another gelding. they will have some fluid but if gelded correctly no viable sperm. the procedure can be done wrong, the vet must pull the testicles firmly to properly geld a stud. what exactly is he doing?

tell a gelding, ask a mare, seek advice from a stallion. i admire gelding, love stallions. even even with the undeniable fact that they are in a position to be extraordinarily carzy specifically cases with some mares in warmth around the corner ;) maximum mares are moody, i think of. i'm a saddlebred guy or woman, so a number of the coach horses are a touch spoiled first of all, and that i don't desire a mare being a diva/drama queen with me. i don't get alongside with maximum women human beings, so i'm that's not outstanding that i'm a gelding female. There are some good mares that i like to be around, yet i come across gelding are greater good, predictable, and specifically cases, yet no longer consistently sweeter. (i've got have been given a mare that likes to snuggle while she's contained in the temper. while she's no longer she's have been given her tail to my face, and an physique of ideas.) i admire physique of ideas, yet i admire wit and humor from a horse, somewhat than drama. Oh and barreler, i've got had one gelding that DID mount a mare, and the different one tried. 14hh gelding mounting a 16hh mare- style of no longer undemanding. definite, some gelding can get their ego contained in the way.

Yes. There just won't be any foals. BTW, horses can have STDs, too.
Generally, if they're gelded before they hit horsie adolescence, they are less inclined to perform hanky panky. But the pheromones a mare in heat puts out can even prompt other mares to mount her.

depends on several things, were they stood at stud before gelging?age they were gelded, and availibility of standing mares.older boys who had been bred, will still mount and breed but those gelded younger usually have little interest in the flirty mares.oh an what is released,if anything is a trikle of prostatic fluid.

No . a gelding is a male horse that has been castrated.
When horse's are castrated , their testicles are completely removed , thus making it impossible for them to produce a semenal fluid.
Some still like to think that they are colts , but not many.

They can perform intercourse but no fluid is released. Most of the time they get excited then lose interest before intercourse occurs. "The thought was nice, but just can't keep it up."

they cannot produce semenal fluid as the glands for that production are removed. that is what happens when u castrate any animal including humans. yes humans have been castrated before. they're called eunuchs.
