A smooth sweet talker usually is the type of person who only tells you what you want to hear and really does not mean what they say. They do this with anyone to get what they want. The best smooth sweet talkers are salespeople. I had a boyfriend who was a salesman, and our relationship did not last. I don't think this kind of person is capable of changing.

i dont agree with everything that has been said you cant tar everyone with the same brush

my husband was a bit of a smooth talker all banter when i met him.he could talk the birds out the trees. i was 17 he was 28. we met in june i turned 18 in july and we married that august so we were together 2 months before we married whirl wind romance.(no i wasnt pregnant either).
we have now been married 14years and still happy neither of us has strayed. he did change slighty after we married and his actions did speak louder than words but he is still a smooth talker when he wants to be. but he makes sure i am looked after he is a great dad and a good man.

with some people the smooth talk is to hide thier lack of confidence and they feel the only way is to act like that doesnt mean they are all going to just talk and dump yopu when they have got what they want.

if its right its right. you can feel it if you have doubts dont do it simple as that i never had any doubts when i met him even though he is 10 years older than me.

No it will not last. I was married to a smooth talker for 10 years, and the whole 10 years were a lie. Too many infidelities, on his part and I believed each and every excuse he used because he was so ssmmmmooottthhhh and convincing!

It depends. I, myself, am a "conversational artist," and I practice lines or witty humor to "fish" for reaction. But that is because I am a writer. ; ) But, I will say that my non-writing friend would always get himself in trouble. Basically he loved the pursuit, and would get bored with that woman and move on. Things changed once he got a little older and has been in his current relationship for 7 years. So...it depends on the motive.

I guess what you'll find is that most smooth talkers don't really have a clue what they want in a serious relationship yet. If they did...why the charade? Woman like the pursuit just as well as men, but for a serious relationship...talk from the heart.

Anyway...hope that helps.

I have always been a smooth talker and my husband married me. For the first time in my life, what I said to him was the truth that is how I knew he was the one for me.

A sweet talker is basically a player someone who you cant believe nothing they say .eventually you will see when they suggest things that they don't mean or don't give back when you always give. Try to red between the line.

sweet talker.......soothe sayer.......controller.......been there before and the marriage hit the wall running, be very careful of this guy, he's a game player, a player that plays on words. If he was an up front talker, then that would be different.......you wouldnt be in here asking this same question, infact, you wouldnt be in here period.
