I'm not sure.....but I believe it is the dirty black rubbing stuff used in industrial applications, like sanding, drill tips etc (being tough ). Carbon based, sounds black and nasty. If this were a quiz night, I would say black.

the impurities around the edges of diamonds have a bit of colour.
the colours will vary depending on where in the world they come from.(the minerals in the opposites will very.) the dust is made when a diamond is cut and all impurities are cut off.

Well, the diamonds with the most desirable colours are used as gems. But any old **** is used for industrial abrasives so it's a shitty brownish grey.
