first off fat doesnt turn into muscle, muscle grows under fat so if you just start weightlifting and gain muscle you may lose a little weight but you will still have fat on top of your muscles, if your in that bad of shape you need to start training yourself first which includes building your cardio first so start jogging once you can go the distance with your cardio and you lose some weight which will happen with cardio workouts you can move onto weightlifting and flexibility exercises these are important because you not only need strength you need to be flexible enough to keep from hurting yourself during certain spots in wrestling.

how chunky? i think it is automatic that you will turn fat into muscle---but there is a diet to the regimen.i say start eating right now and the transition won't be all that hard.that is if that's what you want---- there are alot of 'fat ' wrestlers. look at bubba ray---it works for him. but he is probably still solid.
