It depends on the vitamins. Water soluble vitamins (C, B etc) in excess are filtered out and excreted by the kidneys. These have to be replenished on a daily basis as the body does not store them.

The fat soluble vitamins are dangerous to take in excessive amounts (A, D, E, K) and can be deadly or cause some very serious health problems for you, so NEVER take more than the recommended amount. Excesses of these vitamins are stored in your body for future use and are only depleted as they are used.

Minerals (calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, chloride, etc) are also dangerous in large quantities as these are what regulate the electrical activity of the heart muscle. Too much or too little of these can kill you or cause very painful muscle spasms.

A good rule of thumb to follow is to take them in moderation and never take more than what the directions say to take. More isn't always better, sometimes its deadly.

Lola gave you some excellent advice. You should also be aware that an excess of one B vitamin creates a deficiency of the others.

But if you only did it for one day, don't worry. Just observe the recommendations on the labels in future!

And eat healthy. Vitamin supplements cannot make up for a poor diet!

Your body will get rid of what it doesn't need. That's why with some supplements your wee might be a different colour.
But to find out what your body is lacking and then what sort of dose it requires, you should consult a naturopath.

its good 4 u as long as they are in foods, but too much of anything is bad for you. also, if your taking nutrition pills, exceeding one a day can cause you to faint and feel dizzy. also, you can only take the pills after a big meal...

Not much. Can be dangerous if you take too much over an extended period, but one day won't hurt you.
