Do you notice yourself straining particularly hard to go when you notice this blood? If its just a trace and not a constant thing and you never notice blood in your underwear and only after a bowel movement, it's quite possible your stool is creating fine tears in the rectum when you are pushing. Nothing serious. Have you been constipated lately or is your stool more on the larger side? I know, gross questions, but answer them and if you can answer yes, then that is probably what it is. As always if it gets worse or you are concerned, see a doctor. The doc will probably start off with a painless stool sample. You do it yourself at home, no pain, no embarassment. That will test for blood in your stool.

This could be nothing or it could be something VERY serious. You need to see your doctor for a colonoscopy ASAP. Are you having any abdominal pain with it? It could be hemorrhoids, a scratch along the intestinal wall from something you are eating, diverticulitis or polyps, Crohns disease, inflammatory bowel disease, an ulcer, cancer or a popped blood vessel from straining. In any case it isn't normal or good and needs to be checked out pronto. The faster they find out what is causing the blood the faster they can fix it.
If it's fresh blood it is from the lower bowels (large intestine, colon, rectum), if you have dark tarry stools you have an upper GI bleed going on. If you vomit up what looks like coffee grounds, you probably have a bleeding ulcer in the stomach.
Go see your doctor.

Keep an eye on that, is it bright red blood? You could have a tear sometimes during a BM that can happen. Is it all the time? You could have a Hemorrhoid that is bleeding. If you are concerned about it if you see it pretty frequent then I would go have it checked out by my family doctor. That can happen with hard or loose BM's. Good luck and I hope it isn't serious.

Ask your doctor. This can be serious I doubt theres a pimple in your ***. If it has been going on for two weeks more than likely something is wrong. The first time uhhh whatever. The second time is a warning. By the third time your "***" should be at the doctors office.

The most common cause of what you're describing is hemorrhoids. However, without knowing more about you and your medical history, this could be something more serious. If the bleeding is new and persistent, or has other associated symptoms, you should have it checked by a physician. You don't want to just leave it and ignore it. That would be the wrong thing to do.

It's probably something simple like hemorrhoids, which are distended veins in the rectum. Often times they become swollen and bleed. I would strongly recommend that you see a doctor, however, to rule out anything more serious -- especially if this continues. Don't hesitate because of embarrassment, because doctors see everything and they're used to it. If every woman was too modest to see a doctor when she got pregnant, lots of babies would be delivered at home. I don't know your gender, but male or female, you don't want to neglect your health because of modesty. Good luck!

It is possible that you may have a bleeding hemorrhoid or perhaps a fissure in you colon. If it is bright red the problem will be very low down. If the blood is brown....further up your colon.
Either way or whatever, GO SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!! You may have a Polyp that is bleeding that could turn into cancer and/or you may have cancer. All are treatable if seen to soon enough. DON'T WAIT!!!! Pops

Blood in number 2 is always alarming. It could be polyps or something else that needs to be monitored by a physician. Go to your doctor will ya? My Dad was just like you...didn't say anything for a long time- too ashamed and hoped for it to just stop by itself. He ended up having to go through very complicated testings such as a pipe being stuffed up his a_s.
Go to the doctor asap!!!

It could be hemorrhoids. It could be the toilet paper you are using. But if you suffer from constipation you may be straining and you maybe need to drink more water and add fiber to your diet. But before all that I would see a doctor first just to make sure you don't have a more serious condition. Good luck.

It is quite likely that the bleeding is external since it looks like blood....other bleeding would be difficult to see with the naked eye, would need a fecal occult test (think that's the right name)....possibly an anal fissure. Try the link below. Check with your doctor if you have strong concerns, of course.
