Cuba is a sovereign independent nation. You are obviously lost in a mist. Right now Cuba has more allies than the USA
Cuba is soon to assume the leadership of the Non-Aligned Movement after being elected to direct that 116-country organization for the next three years.
A few months ago, Cuba was supported in its bid to join the new UN Human Rights Council by 135 countries (
Last November, a Cuban motion at the UN General Assembly to condemn the U.S. embargo of that country was supported by 182 countries. Only four (the United States, Israel, Palau and the Marshall Islands) voted against. To bad you live in USA or you could travel to Cuba and check it out.It must be like living in the old USSR, when they wouldn't allow their citizens to visit other countries. Cuba will allow 41,000 people a year to emigrate. The US has allowed 241 Cubans to enter that way. All the person needs is a letter From that nations secretary of state. These were issued to friends of the Party. It looks better on the 6 o'clock news of some poor souls trying to cross the Straits of Florida

Personally, I think the Outback Desert is better - no way out but the dry sand for days. Its easier to survive days at sea until you hit an island - rather than days in dry sand and brush. Better security, and you can have prisoners from all over the world go there - like a world class worst of the worst prison. Cuba wouldnt give up its island as long as Castro is still alive - howver, I see some hope when it begins to fall apart after he dies - even if the new guy tries something to help.

No way! That property is better used as a resort!

Now would be a good time to start expanding the base down there though. Just a few miles a day until we have liberated the entire country. Plenty of support for this in Florida.

The penal colony should be in northern-most Alaska.

Hmm, if global warming is real...put it on a glacier.

Wait, even better... let's put it in Venezuela.

Well....New Jersey has been used as a toxic waste dump and it glows in the dark. Nevada has been used as a nuclear test site and it should glow in the dark. Cuba has been PENALIZED by the US for eons and some how Guantanamo Bay is allowed to exist by the international community.

Bring whoever wants to leave the island to the District of Columbia and those who do not want to leave can stay. Then, perhaps, you could establish a DMZ and Con-Air all the maniacs - homicidal, meglo, psycho, pyro, cyclo, mono, rhino, tricho, ( did I miss any?) to a remote undeveloped region.

I refuse to include Bipolar Disorder, simply because I am one and I do not DIGFAST - I take my time.

Sounds like good reality show to me - blog on!

i have said for a long time that all of the sex offenders and murderers should be put on an island where they have to fend for themselves. Hunt for food, find shelter, and protect themselves from the others on the island. Just think how much money could be saved by emptying these people out of our prisons. Parents of children who have been abused will know that the pervert will never come back for their child again. Families of murdered victims will never be let out to live a normal life when their family member is dead. I think it could help eliminate some debt and the overcrowding of prisons,

As long as Castro is in power, it is a PENAL colony.

have you heard of a place called guantanamo bay?

there are thousands of people being imprisoned there for the past 5 years that are not allowed to have lawyers, haven't been charged with anything, and have not been allowed to contact their families.

also, the government stopped issuing reports stating how many people were being held there shortly after 9/11 (when they realized that if people knew how many people were there, and what was being done to them, that they would not tolerate it, even in the wake of the "attack"). since we have no idea how many people there are there in the first place, they have free reign to beat, maim, and kill the prisoners without being held responsible, since the people who are there have basically "disappeared".
