The minimum salary for an NFL player is $235,000 in his first year, and rises after that based on the number of years in service. Exhibition game minimum is $10,000. These numbers are set by contract between the NFL and the players' union, the National Football League Players' Association. These numbers are of course exceeded dramatically by the best players in each position.

I actually looked this one up while perusing the Falcons website. There is a section there in the team section that explains some of the rules about salary cap. The minimum you can be paid is dependant on years of service in the NFL, and for rookies (this guideline was established in 2004) the minimum is 230,000/year, while a ten-year veteran would have a minimum around 600,000.

The minimum I do believe is $250,000 for a year. It might even be like $100,000 a year.

I'm pretty sure it's something like $460,000 for veteran players and around $300,000 for rookies.
