It changes daily. I suggest checking a weather page for Houston, or the weather page in one of your newspapers. That should tell you at what specific time the sun rose and set for a given day.

Watch in on the news or look it up on the internet. The local news always post when the sunrise/set is during their weather segment since it varys a bit everyday.

August 30th:
Sunrise at 6:59 AM
Sunset at 7:44 PM
They change by like one minute every day so the guy that said 6am and 8pm really doesn't know.

and put in the city of Houston...

Watch the weather on the news tonight and they will tell you sunrise and sunset for the day.
