I think anything is real if you as an individual believe in it enough. I myself happen to be a very fond believer of Faeries as well as many other magical beings.
I have even been lucky enough to live in the Highlands of Scotland (Isle of Skye) for 3 years where we were ripe with Their folklore and tales. There is an absolutely stunning place on the Isle of Skye called Faerie Glen, and it is a magical place where the landscape is TOTALLY different from anywhere else on the island and it is said that the faeries do indeed live there. This place draws thousands of spiritualists or people interested in Faeries every year. As for myself I went there at least one a week and spent hours out there amidst the Faeries losing myself in there funny, playful, creative, and joke telling life...
The fairies are a beautiful if yet, tricky folk and they need our respect just as much as anyone else... Believe what you wish to believe and it will show itself to you.

I live in Chicago. We have the Cubs. I have to believe in fairies even though I'm a White Sox fan.

I think you need to specify what fairy.
Do you mean the nature-loving effeminate sprites down the bottom of cottage gardens?
The ones that steal babies and small children to drown them in ponds and get them lost in forests?
Could you mean the ones that are bigger than normal men and live in sidhes in Ireland and Wales and war often?
Or lastly, the 'modern day fairy' who is an effeminate gay man?

I do. Like belief in God, I'm open to the possibility of fairies, elves, unicorns, sphinxes, etc. existing until someone can prove they don't.

i do! they are everywhere! you have to be open to them. if you believe, you will see them visiting you all the time! but if you arent open to them, you'll never see them
