Sociology is a broad field so you can work in a lot places if you have a few years of work experience. You can work with Dept. of Social Services, probation and parole or a law enforcement agency (jail, prison) as a caseworker, a juvenile court counselor. I am currently working on a master's degree in School Counseling.

My cousin graduated with this exact degree. She couldn't find work in her field with just a BA. I suspect a Master's degree would be the minimum requirement. She ended up getting an english degree and is now attending teachers college. I know, not especially useful. I guess you could leverage your writing skills and apply for jobs that require good written communication. I think that arts majors need to look at what job skills they have and sell those to a potential employer. Maybe talk to your alumni office, they should be able to help.

i believe you're coming near the right suited direction. a level in psychology is powerful for alot, greater beneficial than you will possibly think of, and not using a PhD. Your 4 yeard B.A. in Psychology is an excellelt get entry to point degree for regulation enforcement, social artwork, or many different such fields (i.e., Probation/Parole). those is probably not what you have an interest in however the Psychology degree is greater versatile than a criminal Justice degree in case you agree directly to pass to a distinctive occupation. The Psychology additionally transfers in lots of Masters and PhD. point classes in case you agree directly to added your training in a extremely distinctive section, which many human beings do. sturdy success

Pickings are kind of slim with just a B.A. You need an Masters to really have a chance to rise in the profession.
