First off, I have to say this: Maureen K way to vent. That was tremendously awesome. It sounds like you have some pent up frustrations and I hope you either feel better or at least felt better for a little bit.
Now to the question at hand:
I'm not sure what personality trait this would be considered but I can not stand people who talk out their butts. Example:
You go to a party and Joe Schmo is there. When you first see him you can feel yourself cringe at the thought of possibly having to converse with this buffoon so you try to move as quickly as humanly possible to hide in the crowd. Ughhhh....to late, he's made eye contact and is heading your way. You do your best to put on a smile while gritting your teeth tightly together for the dry hello you are about to present him. "Hi Joe," you say. No hi's omit from Joe's mouth, he just starts in with the stories. "Did you know I invented Microsoft. Yeah, if it wasn't for Steve Jobs patenting it I would have made a bundle....."
Anyway, if you didn't catch it already, Joe Schmo is talking out of his butt.

Well there is always the usual bad traits that I despise, but I think that what bothers me the most is what I see in myself. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly, but it is like when people are calling attention to themselves in an obnoxious manner. I believe I have a handle on it personally, but I can see myself slipping into doing that very easily. When I am around others that do that I just want to sit them down and tell them no one cares, now shut up!

Free loader mentality...I know high class and low class people that have this mentality.
...case in point, I have a friend that had a past military career, no war service...he and his wife both have been skeeming on how to get a double retirement thru fake disability claims...uhl... \
my father was a career military and this is so disgusting to me.
...we have rental property that we had dead beat renters who were a minority who thought they "deserved" free rent.....
