dont get yourself down!!
ALWAYS remember that everyone does things and learns things at a different rate. just because it took you a long time doesnt mean your slow, you just took your time and im sure they are great answers. maybe if you want some help next time ask if your confused about the book or its topic, but dont ever get down about yourself...everyone has their own rate of learning.

Everyone learns things at their own pace.

I'm probably the slowest person in my math class, but it's because of the way I work through problems. Maybe trying to go at finding questions in a different fashion might help?

I found that if I work through math problems the way I usually do (In my head, then write and check as I go) it's a lot slower than if I try figuring them out a different way (write everything down and fix things when I'm done). you can approach the question creation in the same way: Try doing it some way other than the one you use at the moment. You might be able to see more depth into what you're readiing.

Of course, it's also possible that what you were reading wasn't very interesting...

have you always been like this? Has anyone ever mention you could have learning problems? Not to offend you, just an idea you could check into.
Have you had any trouble in school because of this?
If you would like, you can go to www.schwablearning.org and sign up for free on their board called 'parent to parent message board'
There are lots of very caring people there and they help a lot.
