I'm a Green voter. There have been some Green candidates who won power - you will have to do some research to know if it's possible where you live.
You can be sure they won't ever win if nobody votes for them, anyway!
One person can make a difference.

Yes!!! As a member of the Green Party, if you disagree with both the democrats and the republicans, then vote for the candidate you believe in. The more people start voting for the person, instead of the party, the closer we will be to having a democracy again. Show the democrats and republicans that you have a voice. This is how change comes about- The Republicans and Democrats weren't the two original political parties of our country. they became more popular and eventually replaced the old parties because people realized they agreed more with the ideals of the Democrats and Republicans then with the old parties. Be a part of the change! Help the Green Party, with its emphasis on ecological wisdom, non violence, social justice, grassroots democracy, decentralization, community based economics, feminism, respect for diversity, personal and global responsibility, and sustainability become the political party of the future!

Perhaps there is hope, but it is slim. Due only to the fact that the green party is newer, and people have a hard time changing habits. I am assuming this is Canadian green party (greenparty.ca) - the majority of Canadians believe in what the party stands for, but because of economics being so strongly important in this western world, green issues are often held in second place. Voting Green - IMHO - is a good choice when you wish to make known that you disagree with the economic policies or other ideas they promote. Don't count on winning, but in these modern times, and with the open mindedness of Canadians, you never know what this vote may say to the powers that be.

As a Republican, I would not vote for the Green party, however I recommend that anyone thinking about voting for the Green party do it.
This is because those voters are debating between voting Democrat or Green, not between Republican and Green. Therefore, a vote for Green is a vote for the Republican cause.

The Green victory is not in offices taken -- for it is unlikely that in a province-wide election they will win a seat -- but in issues raised and voices heard. Minority parties lead where the majority will follow.
Vote Green!

I have voted for an Independent. I use to live in Jim Moran's district. One election the Republican that ran against him had a slogan on her signs that said "I am not Moran." Didn't like Moran and was not going to vote for someone like her so I voted for the third party. Too bad others didn't follow my thinking.

If green party people voted for green and democrats voted for democrats, Republicans will always win.
Think about it.

Don't they do not focus on the real issues. You should do some research often their are candidates whom already have a "GREEN" plan of action. Vote for these people and tell others to do the same.

i voted for the green party in 00 in the presidential election. i've voted for them other times too. no, they don't have a prayer of winning usually. in 00 i could do so with a clear conscience because i lived in texas and gore could not have won it through our electoral college system.
you have to decide what you want to say with your vote. democracy definitely doesn't work if everyone compromises on their beliefs.
