First of all, why not download the latest Media Player (10). If you're really brave you can download the beta 2 of Windows Media Player 11 here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx)

But if you're a resonable sort of person, you can download 10 here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/default.aspx)

They're both free.

Assuming you have a CD Burner (i.e. CDRW) drive, it's pretty straightforward. Click on the Burn tab at the top, click on edit playlist, then pick "View library by:" to artist or album or whatever you want. Move the songs to the burn list by double click on them. When youve assembled a burn list, click OK. Then click on "Start Burn" at top.

Just go to copy to CD or media device and you should be able to burn a CD there. Why get Windows Media Player 8 when you can get the new version 11 on the microsoft website; TRY IT! ITS FREE!!

Although WindowsXp has a cd burning capability, but still it is buggy. Therefore it is better to use a separate cd burning software like Nero Burning Rom, Or Sonic Record Now,
If you do not find any on these , take a look at the link to find another free cd burning software, however I have not personally used it.

Sonic RecordNow it is really the better and easier choice for cd burning software. Too many issues with Media Player. I burned 38 cds for in my car usage with RecordNow. Not one problem, simple and quick.
