Yep. In fact I'm looking at your hi-larious avatar via my 17inch Dell monitor which is plugged into my P166 MMX HP Pavilion! (about 11yrs old)

It's a relatively new monitor on a positively ancient computer, so unless your HP predates electricity you shouldn't have any problems...

Yes, as long as it is the same type of monitor (CRT or LCD) then it should plug in and work fine with any modern computer (Except a Mac, they think they are too special for PC hardware.)
