Always the end of the year...car dealers are trying to get rid of the current years' models to make room on their lots for the next years' models. You can get some real good deals...go online to find a fair price.

I don't know about buying a used car, but the best time to buy a new car is at the end of the year, in late December. This December, the dealers will all be trying to get rid of the '06 models to make room for the '07 models. You can get great deals on the '06's then. The next best time to buy new is in March before the dealers have to pay inventory tax in April. Trust me, I'm an old pro at this.

The best time to buy a car is Aug to Nov. About when the new models are coming out. They want to get rid of last years models to make room.

Well it depends what kind of car u want to buy. If it is a convertible buy in the beginning of winter. If it is a suv buy in the spring. It also depend on the year of the car. If it is 2006 and they have a 2005 you can get it very affordable b/c try try to get rid of leftovers.

right now is actually the best time to buy,,dealers are wanting rid of the older ones to make room for the newer ones,,and you can get a really good deal on one right now,and all the way up to November you can get pretty good deals on them,,actually its a buyers market now,,instead of a sellers market,,i own a repair shop,,and have seen a lot of car lots mark there prices down a lot,,so you have a good choice to choose from now,,good luck with finding what you want,,i hope this help,s.

I'm assuming your used car question is from a dealer...
used: Jan-Feb are best because nobody else is buying and you'll get LOTS of attention (&they'll want to sell)
new: July-Sept, when they want to get rid of the previous years' models(like now for a 2006 model)

For new cars, the end of each month is usually the best time. The dealer has a quota that has to be reached in order for him to receive his "bonus" from the factory.
The VERY best month would be December, for the same reasons as above.

I prefer to wait until the annual Consumer Report used car issue comes out, usually April.

In june they bring in the next years models so they want to clear out the old ones. that is the best time. Maybe it's more like april or may.
