See your doctor. A cold can develop into bronchitis or pneumonia when you have deep chest congestion. You can try breathing steam from a vaporizer, or try a mixture of whiskey, honey and lemon juice in hot tea, or the old standby, chicken soup. But these are not cures; they just offer relief. You probably need an antibiotic and something for the cough. See your doc....

Here is a home remedie that has been used forever as far as I know. Make homemade chicken soup. Only seasoned lightly. Just boil the chicken whole. Remove the bones, and eat and drink the broth.

After that, Get a bottle of 500mg. or 1000mg of Vit C and a bottle of Zinc about 20mg or 30mg, take together, this is very important, together, if your cold is severe then take three time daily. Vit. C and Zinc together is the fastest cure to the commond cold today. If will reduce your cold by 4 to 5 days.

Hot tea with lemon and honey. If it has been persistent for more than 4-5 days you should go see a doctor - you could have bronchitis or pnemonia (spelling?) - you might need meds.
