When I took the test today it came up negative. If the ovulation calculator was correct, we should have a good chance of conceiving... I hope!

It depends on how long your cycle is. If you have a 28 day cycle, then your next period would be on 9/5. Unless your cycle is shorter than 28 days, I would wait a few more days. I know the tests say you can test up to 5 days early, but if you read the fine print, the earlier you take it before your scheduled period, the percentage of accuracy goes down. My hubby and I are ttc and the waiting is agony, but testing too early and getting a false negative will only depress you - better to wait. Good luck!

Yes it is way too soon to test. If you had a period on 8/8 and you are on a normal cycle...you only ovulated on 8/22, your body doesn't even produce any hormones until at least 5 days after that which is 8/27 then it usually takes at least two weeks for the HcG to reach a detectable level.

If your last period was the 8th I would wait until september 8th if you are on a 30ish day cycle. I know first response says you can test 5 days before your period is due... so the very earliest 9/3... I know its hard to wait when you are TTC but I would wait another week.

You count how long your cycle is. From the last day of your period in june to the 8th. That will give you your cylce length. like mine is 27 days. Then count your cycle length from the 8th and what ever day it comes out to be is when you care supposed to start your period again. which should be right around the 5th,6th,or7th. Count back 4 days from that date and that is the SOONEST you can test for pregnancy. Good luck!

my last period was on 7 aug 06 and i took a pregnancy test yesterday (first response) i am hoping i have taken it too early cos i got a negative too. I think I will wait till next week to take another one.

my last cycle was 8/9 and im gonna wait until 9/6 to do a hpt. My ovulation chart said i could take it 9/2 and maybe get a accurate reading but im gonna wait. good luck to you!!

When is your next period due, 9/8? I would wait until the 5th or 6th if you want to test early...otherwise, just wait to see if you missed your period.

my lmp was the same day, it is hard waiting but I am going to wait until the 4th to test. I also have first response and I know you can test sooner but the percentages are lower the sooner you test. you are better off to wait at least to the 4th as well, or longer if you can stand to wait any longer.
