The Bus Strike is probably referring to the Montgomery, Alabama, bus boycott. From the late 19th century to the 1950's, segregation was legalised in the form of Jim Crow laws. As applied to public buses, this meant that African-Americans were required to pay their fare, go to the rear door of the bus, and sit in the back. Furthermore, if all the seats were taken, a Caucasian had the right to take an African-American's seat from them.

This policy was highlighted in the case of Rosa Parks, an African-American woman who refused to yield her seat, for which she was arrested by the police. This galvanised the African-American community to organise a boycott of Montgomery's bus system in an effort to force a change in the law. Since the bus system relied heavily on the patronage of African-Americans, a boycott would be costly.

During the boycott, which successfully reduced African-American patronage to a trivial amount, tensions heated up as some of the city's Caucasian population felt that the African-American community was stepping out from their traditional role, and violence flared up. One of the principal targets was Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the main organisers of the boycott. He calmly refused violent intents from swaying his cause.

The boycott ended after an unsuccessful attempt by the bus system to declare the boycott illegal. Given that verdict by a court, the law was changed, and segregation on city buses was no longer the law.

This is generally considered the first major victory for the civil rights movement in the South, and it helped bring Dr. King to national prominence. Hope that helps.

The bus strike was about Rosa Parks. You see back then When there where congregation laws all black people had to set in the back of the bus. Well, Rosa Parks, a black lady, refused to give up her seat at the front of the bus so she was arrested for 14 days. Then in the following days the black people decided to not ride any buses.

Bus drivers were fed up with driving sober, so they went on strike until the DUIYES act was passed allowing them to get lit before work. Most private bus companies disallowed this practice as company policy, but school bus drivers fall under the local ordinances, and are allowed to imbibe to this day.

Which bus strike? You need to be specific. Some concerned treatment of blacks on busses, while others concerned drivers looking for better wages.
