Listen to them all, everything he did was great. The album he did with Rick Rubin is very dark and also one of his best.

By the way, even though Johnny Cash sang Sunday Morning Coming Down, Kris Kristofferson (and also sang it too) wrote it while living in a run-down tenement in Nashville when he was working as a janitor for Columbia Records. He was told if he was caught pitching songs to any artists he would be fired. He delivered this song personally to Johnny Cash after landing his National Guard helicopter in Cash's front yard. This song was #1 on the Country charts for 2 weeks in September 1970.

Johnny Cash is one of the greatest all time legends of country music. To name some of J.Cash's greatest song & achievements would take a lot of space, so here's some of my faves. I have them all & many more:{No particular order of preference.)
Get Rythem(1956)
Don't Take Your Guns To Town(1959)
Ballad of Ira Hayes(1964)
5" High & Rising(1959)
Man in Black(1971)
Two song that everyone seem to like a lot are also 2 of my faves:
A Boy Name Sue(1969) & One Piece at A Time(1971){AKA: The Cadillac Song.}
Johnny Cash had a hit song named> Tennessee Flat Box Box(1961) which now his daughter Rosanne Cash has re-released & doing well with.
Johnny Cash had some great gospel hits too, such as:
Sunday Mornin' Commin' Down.
Were You There When They Crusified My Lord.
Just A Closer Walk With Thee.
Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.
(They're be) Peace In The Valley For Me. & of course his famous gospel son "I'll Fly Away."
A bit of trivia on Johnny:
Johnny Cash was born Feb./26./1932 in Kingsland Arkanas & his parents couldn't agree on a second name, so he only has an inital -R- Making his name of record as Johnny R. Cash.
His son "A Boy Name Sue" went from country to become the biggest POP song of the era(1960's)
We lost June Carter Cash on May/15/2003 followed by her beloved Johnny on Sept./12/2003.
His last song(Video) "HURT" is an awesome song & a great video.
We miss you Johnny, but I'm sure you & the lovel June are singing around GOD'S golden throne now for all up there to enjoy.{Sing joyously & be happy together again.} (God bless both of you----A Loyal Fan.)
REBELCAT{:XXXXOOOO>4 U both}****
Another of his great songs was "Rock Island Line" which was included in his humorous collection along with "The One On Right Is On The Left", "A Boy Name Sue", "Get Rythme", & "One Oiece At A Time."> A tribute to his fun side of song writing, as we all need a good song to make us laugh every now & then.

Look...
I know that with the movie and everything people are all into him now. For this I am glad. BUT... I loved that man from the time I was 7 years old back in1978, and all his songs are good to me. Yes, Folsom Prison and the more popular songs are good, but search back farther to when he was with Waylon and then you'll get into a whole new Genre.
Have fun with it! ;)
