In the old days we would call it spedometer drive located in the transmission tail housing near the drive shaft and held in with only one bolt. The speed sensor is electrical now in the same old place it has wires connected to a plug that unclips, and the sensor might be stuck on a O ring so grasp it turn and pull with slip joint regular pliers a small amount of fluid will leak out less than 3 ozs normally. So be prepaired to push the new sensor in.

I can't speak for that specific vehicle, but on my 1989 Dodge Caravan it was at the front left wheel, according to the transmission shop that fixed my problem which was transmission locking in second.
However I did a google and an answer said a 2000 Dodge Ram had two speed sensors, an in and an out, and warned to look out Transmission fluid did not come out during replacement. That would imply at the transmission???
I found other references to speed sensor being in transmission on various Dodge models and varies if 2wd or 4wd.
Sorry I can do no better, probably by time I get this in you will have correct answer...

THe output speed sensor is located on the tranny tail housing.
Is yours a 4 wheel drive?
If so, it's on the tranny just in front of where the transfer case bolts on.

Is on the left hand side of the transmission. One near the rear I believe. Or its the one in the top of the differential, or the rear axle.
