Why do people kill each other?

People can kill each other for various reasons, depending on the situation. And I think everyone has the potential to kill.

Generally, I think people kill each other because we are naturally selfish, animalistic and chiefly concerned with self-preservation. Over the course of our lives, we our taught to repress that part of our selves. Some people are not taught that well, and some others are pushed by stress or threats to the self, and thus the killer is revealed.

They have no ability to recognize any person as a person -- they see them as an obstacle to get rid of for the item they desire the most at the moment. It is sick, it is DISTURBING, but this is why people kill each other.

NOT EVERYBODY HAS THE POTENTIAL TO KILL. for some it's power and status. for others it's wealth. for others it is the promise of trophies. some are not driven by need at all but rather out of necessity, either defense of home or to maintain a balance. some kill out of sheer disdain for imperfection or difference. and some kill, cook and eat their enemies. but not all can kill.

Humans are born perfectionists and don't tolerate digression from their absolutist ideation. We are territorial and mating is competitive. Naturally when establishing social norms we wish to protect those norms from transformation. We project that 'wish' on to our sense of others and when their actions do not conform as a person having the same 'wish', we become angry at the unreasonablness, the rudeness and their unwillingness to repsect our social norms, our social relations, as in marital fidelity.
