First it's difficult to do that but on the off chance.... Change your password if you think he might know it, block his email address and report him to your email company. If it's a Yahoo account, sign in to your account...then go to 'my yahoo' and scroll to the bottom and hit on 'help'. There is a 'report abuse' link there. I've posted the link below. Scroll down and you'll find under 'other abuse'...harassment and impersonation.

Change your password and use a combination of upper and lower case, in addition to numbers. Refrain from using obvious things such as birthdays, initials, zip-codes. I you create a password of six characters, applying a combination of upper and lower case plus numbers, I think the amount of possible permutations is somewhere around 50 million.

Also, if possible - change your secret question and/or answer. Usually the questions asked (as in Yahoo etc) are rather mundane, and most likely you have already told people the name of your favorite hero, Tv-show, music group etc - thus enabling them to enter your e-mail through the secret question-system.

If a change of password is forwarded to an alternative address, change the alternative address as well. Your hacker may have entered your e-mail already, and changed this feature - thereby forwarding every change of password you make to him- or herself.

The obvious is also not to open e-mail from people you do not know, or addresses you do not recognize. And be careful about opening attachments - however benign they may appear. Increase the security setting on your computer and download some of the free software already suggested in previous posts.

Hopefully the hacker just made an empty threat, but better to be on the safe side. Good luck.

It sounds like he's a real creep. So do this, slip into your e-mail address and change the password, then in about another hour or two change the password again. I'd say by the end of the night, after you changed it about 4 times, your hacker-in-arms is going to be very frusterated and probably give up :) Or he's just lying to you to get you to fear him, a lot of people get high on feeling like they're in charge and can make people scared.

in short, no. even if the most proper ingredient you should do is to regulate your password, and adjust it truly typically. regrettably this happens lots. even if in case you probably did music this man or woman down, there's a intense probability they're someone out in Hong Kong or Iowa or some position a concepts remote from you, and your's isn't the in worry-free words account they have hacked. i'm sorry it surpassed off. It stinks and makes you sense like your privateness has been invaded. the most proper portion of do is replace your passwords and move on. strong success!

If it was someone who you didn't know or someone out of the blue who told you this, you probably have nothing to worry about. But if you feel you must do something, you should change your password and secret question/answer.

Maybe even change your ZIP code to something random to throw the person off (If he/she was to know where you live). If people so much as know where you live, it -is- possible for them to reset your password; there are unbelieveably easy ways to find ZIP codes on the internet.

If worse comes to worse, or you feel it's an alarmingly high chance of your accoutn being hacked, copy your emails to your computer, send one to all of your contacts about the threat, and stay logged-in. As far as I know, you can't log in if you're logged into another computer.

I hope this answers your question :)
