Either way, we train them. If you don't happen to care for the way he is, retrain him. Every single minute of every single day, my darling, you are teaching and training him to know exactly what you expect of him. If you are not clear in your expectations, you will reap laziness and sloth. However, if you lovingly retrain him to show you love and especially, respect, you can encourage him to collect and put out the trash the night before, put the seat down afterwards, finish up the dishes every night and put them away, fold the clothing and laundry before he puts in back into the closet and drawers, &c., but you can see where this is headed. If you train him too well you will have lost a partner. You might just as well live with another woman. So the idea is to strongly suggest what you expect and show him some love so he will pay attention to you, and be especially thankful when he does any of the above (so you won't have to), and who knows? He may overdo it and you might have to drag him back to his favorite chair and crack him a beer and just enjoy him for who he really is, after all! Good luck to you no matter what with this one. Sent to you with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

Some men are lazy because they expect other people to take care of them. In addtion they hope they don't have to do any or very little work. That is why men that do work hard hope they don't get stuck in the same area as the rest.

Lets be fair here, it isn't only men who can be lazy.

To answer this question I think that some men may have had their moms take care of everything in their lives. They just never learned to do things for themselves. Others were raised that way because they saw their dads laying around while their moms did all the work.

another very opinionated closed minded question insulting men. After coming off a 12 hr work shift this is a question i just didnt need to read. Maybe the question should be why are you so closed minded and arrogant?

i have been wondering the something!!!
But i will say that men do and don't do what they are allowed to get away with! I have very high expectation from my hubby and i don't settle for anything less then what i think he should do!!
In another words.. i think men just have to be trained to do MORE!!

It is really sad to see people answer questions like yours that just love to put women down and say all we do is complain - it is guys like that are the ones that don't help either or even listen to their loved ones - it is called selective hearing they only hear want they want to hear- just ignore those answers. Let me tell you if the guy doesn't know what you want him to do, they are going to do anything to help. So just mention something to him and you might be surprised, he might get up and start helping. I am married to a wonderful man that does help around the house, but if he doesn't know what needs to be helped with he will just sit and relax. I have no problems with my hubby not helping me.

Lazy has nothing to do with it some are just plain sorry. And it goes both ways some just think everyone owes them something.

Sorry to hear your down and out over something like this!!

I know just makes you sick to be around them.

I don't know who the He!! your talking about, I used to work 12 hours a day and then come home and cook supper for me and my EX wife, and then do the dishes and my own laundry, while she slept in a chair, or smoked cigs or read the paper.

I married a man that expected me to do everything for him. It wasn't because he was lazy, it was because his mother did everything for him and he didn't realize how unfair it was to expect the same from me. We worked it out and he shares the work now.

WELL BASICALLY BECAUSE MOST GUYS ARE LIVING IN THE OLD TIME DAYS BECAUSE THEY THINK A WOMAN SHOULD STAY HOME AND WORK WHILE THEY GO OUT AND WORK SO THAT MEANS WHEN THEY COME HOME WE SHOULD STILL BE WORKING--IN OTHER WORDS OUR WORK IS NEVER DONE. AND THE FUNNY THING IS OUR WORK @ HOME IS HARDER THAN THE ONE OUT THERE.
LET THAT MAN HELP U OR KICK IS A-- TO THE CURB..
