My dad said he use to help his grandmother clean her lace tablecothes with a special trick. He said if you poor boiling water through the area of the tablecloth that has the problem from high in the air, the lace will come clean without damage. His grandmother would suspend the tablecloth flat (somehow) and he would stand on a chair above the lace and poor the water through the cloth. He said you don't want to let the water stay on the lace too long or it will damage it. That is why you pour it from high above the cloth and also don't let the cloth be somewhere that it will soak in the boiling water. I suppose you could do it over the bathtub. I've never tried it. I don't use lace tableclothes.

OK this is what you do.... Get a thick paper towel and lay it on top of the doily. Then iron the paper towel just a couple of times. Take it off and keep repeating until it's all off. You have to use a different piece every time though or you'll just keep melting the wax back on. So change the paper towel or fold it. Good luck

Get the paper used on paper bags. Place this over your doily then iron it. The wax will stick to the paper. Eventually you will lift it all out. Another method (i do not recommend but heard about) Is to place the object (in this case the doily) in a pot of hot water on the stove. The wax will go to the top and you can pour it out. Leaving only water and the doily. A doily sounds a bit fragile so I would not do this.

Lay a paper towel over the wax and put an iron on top of that. Heat for a few seconds and pull off the paper towel. It will have some wax on it. Redo this with clean paper towel over and over until all or most of the wax is gone.

Pretty similar to what other people have said but don't use a paper towel. Instead use brown paper. The brown paper will trap the grease from the wax whereas if you use paper towels it will just seep through to your iron, the paper towel will probably rip and then you'll be in a right mess!
I've done it before and it works a treat!

Well you can freeze it or you can just wash it like you would anything else. I has spilled candle wax all over my shirt and couldnt figure out how to get it out. And I'm not talking a little, I spilled A LOT! So I washed it and it came out like it was brand new. No stain at all and it didnt get on the other clothes either.

Take a piece of wax paper and place it over the wax. Then use a hot iron. It will melt the wax and will be easy to come off.

Place the cloth between some scot towels and iron it with a steam iron, the heat will melt the wax and the toweling will soak up the wax, then clean it with Pinesol, that should desolve the remaining wax.

Boil some water in a large pan. when it is boiling, drop the doilly into it and pin it to the bottom with a popsicle stick or something. The wax will melt and rise to the top, and u can either scoop the wax off and recover the doilly, or scoot the wax to one side and recover the doilly. Either way, i just said Doilly more times in this one paragraph then in my entire life combined.
