My daughter used to have her period for 10 days. She really suffered with it,and she'd get so weak from so much loss of blood. Our family doctor finally put her on birth control pills, and that regulated it to 5 days. She only had to take the pills for a few months, but her periods are still only 5 days, and her pain and blood loss have diminished greatly.

I have a friend that has one that last three days every single month and another one that lasts for nine days every month. I guess the answer would depend on whether it comes regularly or not, and if it always lasts the same amount of time or if it is irregular. Have you recorded the dates on a calender? If not, you should, since you have questions, then you need to call a doctor's office, and speak to them about it. You probably won't even need to see the doctor, just ask the nurse over the phone, and they could provide you with answers. But if it's been going on for like 2 weeks or more, you could be hemorrhaging, so you will definitely need to call a doctor's office anyway, if not go straight to the ER.

I'm afraid so. I had one last about two months one time. It appeared off and on, but never completely left until I had my uterus removed.
