There are 4 points in tennis. There's love, which is 0, then there is 15, which is 1, then 30 for 2, then 40 for 3. after you get past 40, you win. but if both players have 40 then its a duece and you have to win by two points. so recap
love=0
15=1
30=2
40=3
after 40 the game is over
alternate serving by game

For a game 0=love, then, 15, 30, 40. If the score gets to 40-40 it's called deuce. You always have to win by at least 2. So if the score is deuce, in order to win the game you have to win two consecutive points. If the server wins the 1st point it's call "Ad-In" if the receiver wins the point it's called "Ad-Out". In order to win a set you have to win 6 games but you must win by 2. If the score gets to 6-6, you play a tiebreak. The first player to get 7 wins the tiebreak but you must again win by 2. Usually people play best out of three sets. Although the professional men play best out of 5 in the Grand Slams. Hope that helps -- it can be confusing!

its 15, 30 then 40 so eg. I serve we rally you win then the score is 0-15 or love-15 (the servers score is always announced first) if i win the next it will be 15-15 or 15 all and then if you get to 40-40 its called deuce so i serve again, if i win this (server) then its add in if i lose its your point add out then you play one more time and if i win again the you lost the point if you win it goes back to deuce

well, in a normal match of tennis you need 3 sets to win. to get a set you need 6 games. to get a game you need 4 points. when you score on your opponent, you recieve a point-it goes 15 then 30 then 40 and finally you win the game. if each player has 40 then this is referred to as "deuce" and you need two more points to win that particular game only.

0 = Love
1st score for you = 15
2nd score for you = 30
3rd score for you = 40 or 45 (people call it differently)

If both have forty, it is called deuce and the player who can win the game has to win two points in a row if they are in deuce

The initial point counts go as follows; 15(first point), 30(second point), 40(third point), and if the next point is consequtively made by the player who just made 40, the set belongs to them. However, the winning set is made in two consequtive points.

Thats some of it.

if your opponent misses the ball, you get 15 points. the next time he misses, you get another 15 points. the next time he misses you get 10 points. the next time he misses you win that game. you play 6 such games. whoever wins most wins the set. whoever wins the most number of sets wins the match
