I am a straight, single male who has no problems talking to women or dating but for years I have had an ongoing curiousity about what life would be like if I had been born female. I have always wanted to be a woman for a year or so in order to see what you all go through during sex and child bearing. I am by no means attracted to other men but I have always wanted to know what it was like to experience it from your prespective. The same goes with being able to have a child grow in your body to full term and deliver it.
I don't know how many people the Ellen Barkin/Jimmy Smits movie where the guy was killed by a lover and was given a second chance. The next morning he woke up as a woman and had to find at least one person that cared for him otherwise he would go to Hell. I have always been fascinated with a womans body and their abilities to have children. Is there anything my therapist can try with me to somewhat simulate what being a woman is like? Curiousity doesn't make me gay!

I think, it's great having your curiosity. The closes thing would be when you do finally have a child & experience this with your partner. She can share all her feelings with you & you will also be bonded with your child. Perhaps you can try Hypnotherapy.

I am not necessarily a woman, but I am a girl. First of all, there are the disadvantages, such as having the risk of becoming pregnant and dealing with your period. However, a woman is very strong. A long time ago when men were considered 'superior' to women, they didn't think too closely on that. Women have to be strong enough to hold a whole other life inside of them. I can't fully answer your question since I've never had sex or anything, but I'm glad to be a girl.

I am guessing that you wil never fully understand what it would be like to be female, that being said....its a beautiful wonderful experience to have a child grow within and then deliver it. I also beleive that sex for women is better than for men, but that would also depend on the partner with which one is having intercourse. mens lives and bodies are so different than women I could never fully explain or make you understand what it is like to be a woman. With that being said, you would most likely lose the idea that it is beautiful if you fully felt/understood what went into being a woman, its the unknown complexities that it seems you are in love with. you would most likely find it repulsive if you yourself had to go through with them. while the bodies are so different so are the minds and women were made to not only physically do and feel differently than males but our minds too were made to perceive and accept things differently than you also.

You will have to ask your therapist about that one. I can only say that I love being a woman. I had 2 kids and the feeling of a part of me and my husband was growing inside of me was extremely emotional and wonderful. Giving birth is an awesome experience itself. My husband was in tears when he saw them. Sorry but I just dont have the words to describe it.
