If tattoo's are a sin then artwork itself would be a sin.
There is absolutly nothing wrong with tattoo's, even if a lot of people find them unattractive.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
All this talk about sin sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

actually, wat i could think of is to tell you that if God wanted you to have tatoos on your body, wen he made people, he would have made too tatoos on the body, just like God gave human a mouth to eat and to speak, 2 hears to listen, so if you needed a tatoo, he would have given it too. and it definitely say that you are not to change your nature, God have made you a way, if you do anything else to it, that means that you mean, God have not made you the way you were supposed to be so you are correcting him.
so the best thing i could tell you is out of everything i have said, look for the right answer.
Did God made you the way you were supposed to be, as he is and will always be the maker?
then you have no reason to put it, and it absolutely is a sin.

Well I think this depends on a lot of things.. the first being on how you feel. Is it against your religion? or your beliefs..? And also it depends on what tattoo your getting.. some tattoos can be nice like religious symbols while other will just be something fun like a butterfly.. then there are skulls or dying people.. people get tattoos all for different reasons. my one friend even had all his kids names tattooed on his back.
personally i dont think they are a sin.
its your decision in the end.

I don't think it is a sin, but I don't think it is a good idea to get one, because sure it looks cool now but when you start saggen, so does that tatto, and they also ruin your beautiful skin that God gave you. But if you like tattos then get them to make you happy, it is not a sin.

By jodth09s logic, I should throw away all my clothes because I wasn't born wearing them, that's just dumb. It's called body art for a reason, plain skin sucks get tattooed.

No. They're just hideously ugly, especially on a woman. Since women's bodies tend to be works of art in and of themselves putting a tattoo on one is akin to spray painting graffiti on an Old Master.

According to the Bible, yes, but apparently there are many people that don't realize that. Not that I'm saying that tattooed people ignore the Bible, because that would be stereotyping, which is morally wrong. However, I sincerely wish that people would pay attention to that. (especially since tattoos are so hideous on people, anyway)
