On September 11th, when the planes crashed into the towers and when the towers collapsed, were there a lot of human body parts lying around? I am not trying to be morbid or sick, I just honestly was wondering. Or was the collapse so horrible, that it pretty much destroyed anything that came down with it?

There's no need to call me an idiot. I'm sure others have wondered the same. I have the highest respect for those who tragically lost their lives that day. I also have the highest respect for their families as well. Name calling is not needed.

They recently found more body parts on top of one of the buildings near the towers so they were some.

From what I remember my bio teacher (who thought it was a good idea to read us this sort of thing the day afterwards) reading to us, said that there were full people falling out of the buildings (probably jumping) and that there were also things like torsos and arms and stuff falling from the "sky". Not too long ago another teacher told us that a lot of the people that helped out and a lot of the people that survived got lung problems because they were not only breathing in dust from the buildings, but also powdered people (think War of the Worlds, but more realistic.)

Yep. There were lots of bodies and body parts. A friend of mine was working at a local university in Manhattan as a researcher and NYC turned the basement of her building into a morgue. I was told that the smell was awful.

My brother was a first responder and he found a finger. There were bags for misc. body parts. Most people were simply incinerated by the heat and collapse.

Yes there were parts. They were able to identify people by the DNA from the parts. Also, many people jumped so those people or parts were found in the rubble.'

Yes, many parts. That's how they identified who had died, by the DNA evidence from those parts.

Well, think about it: tons of concrete, steel, and glass smushing everything underneath it.
Yup...I imagine it was a bloody mess.
