how do I delete the searches that remain visible in the google scrolldown on the top left of the screen?

On the left side of the search-box, there is a drop-down arrow, if you click it its gonna show u the option of clearing the search. Click that option and poof...ur search would clear.

Have you used the Help buttons at all?
I highlight, (hold mouse down and left click), then delete (right click).I hope it works for you.
