Yes, Princeton has a good psych program, as do many schools.
Child psychologist is still a broad category...do you know specifically what you want to do? For example, there's some schools in Maine, Minnesota, and Illinois that have programs in play therapy (type of therapy used with children).
Some schools have a specific child psych program, while other schools have a child focus within the cllnical psych program.
Whatever you choose, make sure it is APA accredited....APA annually publishes a book of universities offering various accredited psych programs....I recommend you take a look at this book. Besides some essentials of each school (tuition cost, etc.) there are nice tidbits of different schools' facilities and programs. At least it's a way to get you started looking.
Best wishes for the future. :)

if you are already in college, then you should ask any faculty members in either the developmental or clinical programs. They will be familar with the top programs and people in that area. It's not always the Ivy Leagues that are the best for a particular area. The University of Michigan is ranked near the top for many different areas of psych and it's a public school.
If you are still in high school, you don't need to worry about specializing just yet. Just look for a decent college, as most schools will have decent undergrad psych programs. To be a child psychologist, you will need to go to grad school and get Ph.D. or Psy.D. before you can get licensed (at least in most states). It's the graduate program that matters more than the undergrad. Just in my graduate cohort (students who entered the program in the same year) we've got people from all kinds of undergraduate institutions, from small liberal arts schools to large public universities to the Ivy League. The success we've all had in the program has not been dependent on what kind of school we went to for undergrad.
Also keep in mind that most graduate programs do not take undergrads from the same school (except in rare circumstances), so if you're in the stage of picking a school for your bachelor's, you may actually want to avoid going to the "best" child psych school, so that you can apply there for graduate training.

One doesn't have to attend an Ivy League school to become a child psychologist. Most universities in North Amreica offer good undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology. Princeton and Harvard and Yale have done wonderful research in the areas of child development however so has Stanford, University of chicago and many other universities in the US and Canada.

If you are not yet in college, go to a good liberal arts school that you can afford for your undergraduate. You will need a graduate degree to do anything in the field and no one cares where you start, just where you end up. In college, when you are writing your research papers take a minute to see where the authors of the interesting papers are teaching. Send them a brief email saying that you enjoyed their paper and asking 2-3 questions about it. Based on their responses you will learn what universities have good programs. And I agree with above, Ivies aren't everything.
Good Luck!

Fsu is great, the head of the psyc department is also a chilrens nurosurgen. But really the best place is where ever you feel the mst comfortable. That is going to matter more than wha the name of a school or where it is located ect. You can do very well at smaller schools and bomb in big ones based on hw you feel while attending.

Yeah, it received't ensue till you get a PhD, that you would ought to in any case. BAs and Masters in psychology are fairly a lot ineffective contained in the actual international. even with a PhD you could conflict. there are countless PhDs contained in the sector of psychology who artwork foodstuff service, retail, hospitality, etc.. this is the most populated significant in college, between the least respected as an entire through outsiders, and feeds into an really constrained interest field.
