I drove a new point for my shallow well to 25 ft. Use a hand pitcher pump; Prime first, then pump for several minutes to see if you get water. If not, continue driving down until you reach a level where you do get water. Make sure that you have a check valve on the line before the pump.

I have a suggestion, and I've seen this done.

A customer of mine wanted me to do a shallow well for him, for irrigation. He had tested, and there was water. He got the pvc pipe he wanted and took a garden hose, put it into the pipe and sunk the pipe that way, adding couplings. The hose,,,to my surprise began literally getting pulled into the pipe. At 50 ft, he had to attach another section of hose just to be able to pull the first section out, but he had water, hooked up a pump and ran his irrigation lines.

I had to do thirty feet one time. Hook up the pump and ckeck to see if the water is to your liking. If not go deeper.
