You have every right to feel betrayed. However, it depends on how serious you take this guy and people on the net in general. He may have seen it as harmless before because most people who are on the net don't take it seriously. However, he came clean possibly because he feels that you are approaching a closer friendship. It takes more energy to correct a wrong and to admit one is wrong than to tell a lie. So him making that effort is a positive thing. He could have easily kept on with his lie, because you have never seen him before.
Just make sure not to fall for any scams, as some people tend to do that here on the net. Be careful. Just be sure to stress that you appreciate honesty and you will not accept anything less (if you decide to keep the friendship).

Of course you're over reacting. What do you really expect on the internet? People use the internet like they use to use a mask or even a telephone. To do things or say things they would never say or do if they could be recognized.
On the net, they can act out their fantasies. You should never believe anything anyone says on here.
A word to sweetie blonde, yes some people do tell the truth online but they aren't the ones looking for love in all the wrong places.
Get over it and don't worry about talking to him again, he has already replaced you, probably many times over.

1-You handle it by not talking to him anymore.
2- It was several lies and lying is wrong.
3- You should be disappointed it is disappointing when people lie.
4- You were betrayed. Lying is a betrayal.
How can you be overreacting when your only action was to not speak to him since you found out about his deception.
I think what you have done (or not done) is appropriate and wise.

I think you are over reacting! With all the crazy people now days and all the predjuduses he might have felt a need to know you better to trust you with personal information. I can understand that. Him coming clean shows that he really thinks of you as a friend he can trust. You might be throwing away a great friendship.

WELL if he cant tell the truth from the onset, then he isnt worth the chit-chat, you may as well chat to someone who can tell the truth, i dont think your over reacting, BUT i would just ignore him now & let him lie to someone else.

This is no white lie....this is deception at its best. Stay away.... You don't want people like this in your life...it would just be the beginning of more to come! Keep seeking out other chit chat partners....this one is done!

You're overreacting. 90% of internet chatters lie about themselves at one point or another, in large ways or small. The fact that he eventually came clean says to me that he wanted to be sincere and regretted lying to you. I'd give him a second chance.

specific. yet you're making a huge generalization and over simplifies human habit. no longer all human beings makes use of the comparable strategies. Obama in basic terms states the glaring no remember what shade you skin is.. specific, maximum sales human beings use this and so do politicians yet Baraak did no longer invent this..its in basic terms an obtained potential.
