Frog and turtles would be fine together but unless you fence it or wall it your froggies and turles will hop away at will. Goldfish or koi will be good. For the winter you'll want to bring them in, even though they probably could survive it. A large rubbermaid container will house them very nicely. You'll need a hanging powerfilter for the side of this but you can get once thats good enough for under $30. I'd get two 10g "Top Fin" powerfilters (thats the Petsmart brand) and put them at opposite end of the container. I'd get a container that was longer than taller, it would work better. If you decide to introduce turtles, you need to decide if you want aquatic or land. If you aquatic, itll eat your fish, no matter how large they will at least get injured. I would get two box turtles and build them a little rock cave thing against the side of the pond. Then as a fence type thing i would build a step type thing about 5 to 6 inches tall to keep them in. Frogs, well even if you dont put them in, they are likely to show up. If you do put them in, theres no way to keep them, and you dont need to feed them. They'll find food. I would just wait and see if they show up though. Be careful, because depending on where you live there is a good chance you or your neighbors have a cat that roams free. They will try to get into the pond and will harrass the turtles. Is there cover over the site where the pond will be? Trees? Or could you build a pavillion type cover, this is only because birds may be interested also. You should use your best judgment of what animals live in the wild outside your home. Feed the fish pond fish food, sold at walmart, petsmart, pretty much anywhere. And the turtles (box turtles) veggies and such. Good Luck!!!

For the pond, try to put plants that are compatible with the frog turtle or fish. For other fishes, you can put goldfish for the frog. If the fish you are getting is a koi, please do not put goldfish!! Koi eat goldfish!! For the turtle, you could try to put a fish that wont eat turtles, and wont get eaten by the turtle either. This could be a problem, so I advise you to get terrapins instead. They are usually okay with goldfish and koi, but as I told you earlier, koi eat goldfish. I suggest you should put a sand bar in the middle of the pond to divide up the koi and goldfish. Make sure they cannot swim or leap across. If I am not wrong, the terrapin/turtle should be able to get across. Try to help it but putting ascending stones, like a staircase so he can get up.Put a fence to make sure that animals cant get in and your prts cant get out. You should put a shady place to shelter them form the hot sun. In the winter, you should get them and put them in a warm and safe place, like a tank. Do the same for the fishes. turtle will eat the fish unless they are big fish 3-4 inches and may also eat the frogs and also some frog species are poisionous so research the exact animal type you have avilable to purchase and don't relie on staff at the store some times they don't know and they give wrong information.

I had a pond in CT just north of the sound I buried mine 3 feet under the soil and kept goldfish and a sucker fish in it- we had frogs move in on their own along with snakes and other various creatures looking for a drink.

You are asking for a lot of work. Mixing species complicates the cares and housing needs geometrically for each species.

1. Turtles and frogs are both opportunisitic eaters- they eat anything they can fit in their mouth. Big turtles will eat small frogs, and vice versa. Both will eat fish they can catch and gobble.

2. Aim for local species. It will simplify things a lot for you.

3. There are pros and cons to taking them in or letting them hibernate. Do some research to decide how you'll do it.

You will have to enclose it with wire in order to keep the turtles and frogs. You will also need wire under ground as they will dig out.

Have it at least 3 feet deep and buy a heater for winter.
