Long story short, I was brash and took geometry in freshman year.
CSU/UC wants at least 3 years of math in high school.
High school only requires 2 years.
Currently in Trig./Pre.Calc.
Plan to major in english, and attend a 4-year college.
Residing in California.
Have only taken 2 years, this year will be my 3rd and last year.
Trying to drop Trig./Pre.Calc.
SUGGESTIONS!

You have two possibilities -- go to a crappy college or do the math.

The answer should be obvious. Do the math.

Sure you don'tneed it to major in English (unless you want to understand someone like Tom Stoppard, of course) -- but you might just need some math after college, when you discover that the ability to read sonnets doesn't pay much these days.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for a liberal arts education (I even did graduate work in Philosophy). But mathematics is a big part of being liberally educated.

take trig. its worth it to ensure that you get into a good college =] dont worry just fight your way through the last year. if you need help, get a tutor...i mean if you took geometry your frosh year you must be pretty good at math. personally i took math all 4 years of high school

OH theres also another option...you could take a math course over the summer that satisfys your schools requirement of a certain level of math. it only takes 6 weeks and its easier that way cause it doesnt go that in depth... i skiped geometry but i still got 10 credits for taking it. thing is it only works if you are a junior or an underclassman
