Hi there :) I agree on one of the answers but I guess it all depends on where the hernia is located at to have it cause sexual disfunction. Yes a hernia needs to be taken care of yes, and I do believe when you are older it would take longer to recover from the surgery. But it is best to have it done. Men are very stubborn when it comes to getting them to go to any dr.s, but you need to say "sweetie I just care so much about you and remember I love you and I want you to be here with me till the end of time, so please go have this looked at ok" This might not work but then again it might. - If it doesn't make him the appointment anyhow and go with him and be there with him and say You need to do this for us. If he doesn't go in my dear, then it would make me wonder if there really is a problem or not. especially with the sexual disfunction part hmmmmm like I said it all depends on where that hernia is located with that. ( yes a hernia can be anywhere besides in your lower abdomen - it can be higher like tummy area) GOOD LUCK :)

If he has a hernia, he is going to have to go to the doc or hospital eventually. Take him to a county hospital they will accept patients without insurance and you can get on a payment plan or something. I don't know how you are going to get him to go, but he has to get that thing operated on. Not to worry you, but my son had a hernia when he was born and the doc said if a grown man has one it is a very painful recovery.

Good Luck!

If you are living together common-law then he should be able to get on your insurance anyways. I'm on my significant other's workplace health insurance and so is my daughter. Of course it doubled the amount that is deducted from his pay for this. However, since I live in Canada it wouldn't cost me a cent for the operation because we all have free medical care for operations and doctor's appointments.

Tell him you won't marry him unless he pospones all talk of a ring until later and takes care of his hernia right after you get married and add him to your insurance. Not all chivalry is good.

Understand all this is about pride. He feels bad he is hurt, can't buy you a ring and probably feels you are ashamed to be seen with him. As men, we need to feel in control and right now he is not. Getting married to help him get repaired, even for the right reasons, makes him feel inadequate. It is his job to provide for you, take care of you. Your help is nice, but try helping him reach his own goals. You are goona make it look like he is accomplishing whatever, when in reality you are helping him. It sounds complicated but try to remember this; He NEEDS to feel HE is accomplishing things, taking care of you. Whatever the reality. Play the game and make him feel manly. You sound like a caring person, be patient.

Tell him to buy a cubic zirconia until he can afford a real diamond. Mine was ten bucks, including shipping! Only a jeweler can tell--so if he refuses, there is a bigger problem.
Check into independant health insurance, or see if yours will cover "partners".
Good luck.

Well I really don't know what to tell you but I do know that you need not to give up on convincing him to go see a doctor. He might get tired of hearing you talking about it and finally go to the doctor.

Tell him if he doesn't go you will leave him. YOu don't want an unhealthy husband or a husband who might get cancer.

Most hernias do not cause sexual dysfunction! something else is going on.
