You see, my counselor enrolled me in a regular U.S history class because AP history wouldn't fit into my schedule. He said that if I really wanted to, I could take it on my county's online high school during 7th period (when I'm supposed to be taking regular U.S History). I was wondering if any/all of the aforementioned schools would look down upon me taking a core AP subject over virtual high school (it is pretty much distance education over the internet). Please tell me what you think; I love all of these schools and would like to go to one!

I would take it over the Internet. Your choice is taking AP over the Internet or taking a regular history class. Colleges would rather see AP than a regular class, if you do well in the class, even if it is over the net.

Does the fact that it's a class taken over the net even show up on your transcript? It might not. I'd ask your guidance counselor about it.

Call up the admissions offices at some of your target schools and ask whether they have any sort of opinion about the topic. They clearly can't tell you whether or not you would get in, but they might be able to give you an informed opinion about how online AP courses are viewed. I suspect that the score on the AP test is far more important than whether or not you took the course virtually or in a brick and mortar classroom. Indeed, it could be argued that it's more impressive to get a 5 after taking an online course, as doing so would likely require a great deal more personal initiative on your part.

Well I didn't go to Yale but my sister did. It's the best school you can go to. They are better at paying scholars ships and everything but the education is phenomenal. It might be on the pricey side but its worth it. I currently go to TSU in Nashville, TN. Take it over the Internet and go to your guidance counselor and ask him if it shows up on your transcript and if it does you are good to go. Call all the financial and admissions offices of the schools and ask them what can you do to get in there school. You should be good to go.

Schools tend to like students that will do whatever it takes to take the hardest classes possible. I say go for it.
