a few weeks ago is there anything we can do, I mean to get some money to fix the wall and celing where it has bubbled up? We are pretty sure it is from the old roof mount cooler that is in the home, there is now a central air system.

Your home warranty should cover that I think.

If you haven't closed, either get the sellers to fix it or have therm give you cash back at closing for the repairs. If you have closed, check if your house came with as AHS warranty, a lot of sellers include one for the first year although, if this was old damage (pre-warranty) it probably won't be covered.
Even if you had an inspection and the inspector missed the damage, you can't go after him because he certainly had you sign a waiver (ours did). Unfortunatly, once you buy a home you buy all its problems, too.
So, here is what I would do if I were you: check your attic and roof and make sure the leak no longer exists before you do any repair work. Then roll up your sleeves and start pulling off the damaged wallboard or plaster. Take care to turn off power to any switches or outlets near where you are working, in case you run across a wire. Hanging drywall on you walls isn't very hard so long as you have two people, check out some DIY sites for tips. If you get overwhelmed or feel you won't be able to finish it properly, you can always call in a professional part way thru if you need (many people hang the dry wall but bring in a pro to apply the tape and drywall compound). Any headway you make yourself will be money saved.

Things like that should be disclosed during Escrow. If there was damage and it was not disclosed, you could go back on the seller.

Also, did you get an inspection of the house, prior to the sell?? I bought a house and the agent told me it was good business to have a third party inspection for hidden damage and problems. We did, the report came back clean and we also bought an extended insurance on the house for one year in clase Air or something went bad.

Check back into it and also get with the agency in your state that regulates realestate. Might be an eye opener. Good Luck

Did you get a home inspection before you purchased the home? Also, the sellers would have had to provide you with a disclosure sheet. Check that to see if they said no to anywhere where it asks if there was ever roof leakage, water problems, etc. If they marked no and there clearly was, you may be able to use that.

Talk to the bank you got the loan from, they should be able to go after the previous home owner to pay the bill. Do it quickly, there may be a time limit. Also, the bank shouldn't have given you the loan if the house was in need of repairs, it's sorta their boo-boo too.

Did you order a home inspection? If so, and you HAVEN'T closed, request it be fixed or the seller come down on the price and fix it yourself...

Otherwise, you're responsible for it. Did you purchase the HSA warranty? If so, use them - the deductible won't be more than a couple hundred dollars...

when you had the home inspected before you bought it they should have cought it ,, start with the realtor and work up from there ,all the way to court if you have to, shouldn't have been sold till that was fixed ,just like a termite inspestion

If you have any equity you should be able to do a small home equity loan
