I think it's socially acceptable now to be a single mother as long as you're good mother and able to provide for your child. You will be getting a lot of antiabortion screeds and pleads to this question. I suggest that you ignore these harpies and do what you think is right.

Yes they do judge you. Why do girls (not women, women should know better) allow themselves to get pregnant in the first place? For Christ sake what does a condom cost and every woman should insist on one.
You end up with kids, all your lives are screwed for the most part. If you're lucky you might find a decent guy who will stick with you but more than likely you will be fending for yourself and your kid/s always. I just don't think that is how people should be bringing kids into this world and a child deserves much better.
Have the baby. Deciding whether to keep it can come later. I don't think it's easy to live with yourself after getting an abortion and she certainly should not do it because the guy is an asshole and wants her to. Get child support from the creep if you do keep it.

Under those circumstance, if SHE wants to keep her baby, then she should and simply send him to hell.. A woman will ALWAYS be judged, but a strong woman does not allow anyone elses judgments to affect her life., she goes by what SHE wants and what is best for HER. If she has the support of her parents and/or friends and she is financially stable and able to provide for a child., I do not see the reason why she cannot have this baby. Now, if she is a young little girl will be a burden on her parents to support this child and also she needs to be supported herself, UH, that is a completely different situation as she is really not going to be a MOTHER, but just a carrier of a baby because she will not be able to provide anything for this child. So it depends on whether she is an independent woman or not...

yes, some people still judge others about being a single parent yet I looked at things this way IF they are not judging you for that there is ALWAYS something someone Will judge you for. I was a single mother for a LONG LONG while YEARS! Yet, took it upon my kids and made the best out of life that I could for them. I would NEVER care what peoples opinion was about that! CRAP HAPPENS sometimes!

Single mothers are socially acceptable. Would she rather be that or looked at as a baby killer from aborting her child? Terminate the pregnancy? Wow. Makes something horrible sound like a day at the beach doesn't it? To each their own, but even adoption would give the child an opportunity to have a beautiful healthy life. She should think about her child, not what others think.

people will talk and put her down regardless of what she does. they feel like their opinion matters!! NOT!! Just remember that everyone has an opinion, they're like buttholes!!! anyone that judges her and doesn't know her will one day be judged as well!! live life to the fullest and strive for excellence always. Whatever you do be good at it and let the folks talk!!! When they stop talking about you is when you need to worry because then you're doing what they want you to and they have nothing to say.

Depends on where you live, what you do for a living, and how you are looked upon in the community if it is a small town. I know right now that I'm viewed no different in my home town because I have a good job and I have no father of my child in my life.

if you have nothing to offer a child then yes people will judge you ... as you are about to bring a child into this world with no means of support then yes you will be judged...
there is nothing wrong with being a single parent but often people think oh its not going to cost me that much and they forget about how they are financially going to look after themself!... let alone a child
if you are immature and dirty or have bad habits you will be judged...

it is very much socially acceptable. I'm more concerned about the quality of the parent than the quantity of the parents. You don't have to be a pair to be an excellent parent to a child.

Of course people people do. Its not right to make assumptions. People just assume that when a woman isn't with a man that she sleeps around or something. I mean she could be a widow, or even a babysitter...aunt. People just need to mind there own business!!
