well ill answer the question in the way most people want it done... TREMENDOUSLY WELL DONE....THAT **** BAG DESERVED EVERYTHING HE GOT...ZIDANE SHOULD OF PULLED OF THE WAYNE ROOYNE AND STEPPPED ON HIS BALLS.....

For a moment I froze and my mum totally missed it and starting to ask me what happened, I was speechless and shocked by what had happened. I just saw Zidane walking back towards Materazzi and headbutting him in the chest and Materazzi is suffering with pain on the ground, and the referee is confused and Buffon is running towards him. I knew something must have provoked him, because nobody would do this in a final especially if its their last game.
When I saw the red card, tears just started flowing out, because I knew it was all over, without Zidane it was all over. I hid my face in the pillow and cried...
He walked by the trophee, and down the stairs...that was the alst time I saw him....sniff sniff... :(
To be honest I did laugh a little when they replayed it, it was so...wierd...at school, every one was talking about it and they all said that Zidane rocked, so I was happy he made some new fans... :)

i was happy he was sent off the field. Zidane is a great player and i admire him. but he acts childishly sometimes. I followed the afterwards of the incident. Apparentrly Materazzi did not say anything about his family, nor any racist thing. Zidane was mad they had difficulty winning. so he hit the guy when he was provoked. but nothing unusual for fooboal was said. this is a very machist sport. that's we like about it too. Sometimes he cannot control his emotions. Being great includes that too. he wasn't great. He deserved the RED card. French people need to learn how to lose.

Zizou got retaliation. According to Brazilian sportscasters, Zidane headbutted Materazzi for calling his only sister a prostitute. That was shocking, but awesome!

when you have a player as generally stoic as Zidane, I think people like seeing a little emotion. It humanizes them. Like when Tiger Woods cried after winning the British Open.

You konw what Touzour, I've never admire Zidane. In fact, I hate him.So you can conclude that I had not applaud him and I continue to think that he's stupid . That's all I've got to say.

Zidane thought the guy was having a heart attack and, with a lack of electric shock treatment around, he headbutted him in the chest, brought him back to life but was red carded for his trouble. A true gent.

He is an amazing player, but you cant do that at this level. More so world cup final. How many people were watching this? Gives a bad name to football. So it shows that even legends have there flaws. All that skill, but temperament of a 3 year old.
